Painter turned Business Woman turned Designer

Hi there, I'm Morgan - a designer, artist, and educator hoping to further my career in the design space.

I was born in Texas, raised in Kentucky, and have lived a lot of places in between. It’s safe to say I haven’t always been inspired by the places I’ve found myself, but ever since my first job in highschool, I knew I wanted to make a career out of Art & Design. I’ve learned I can draw inspiration from other people’s stories and perspectives, churning up fresh ideas with the things right in front of me.

I’ve been drawing since I was five. After starting my mural business while teaching part-time, I discovered how products can help meet our needs with that bit of magical artisanship we all crave. I graduated from the University of Louisville with a BFA in Painting and a B.A. in Spanish.

Currently, I'm the Lead UX/UI Designer at Captain HQ. I lead design creation for our web application to help provide capital to communities across the country impacted by natural disasters. I also previously worked with Tumbao Collective to design a creative, educational user experience for their non-profit website.

When I worked full-time as a muralist, I grew my business by creating and executing large-scale designs with a sense of permanence for government agencies, non-profits, and private companies. I’m lucky to have made a career out of solving visual problems!

Outside of design, I spend my time sketching and enjoy (not-too-hilly) hikes in the woods. My fun fact is living in Costa Rica for 6 months after college to teach English.
